10月3日下午4点20分，枪声最先从暹罗百丽宫的卫生间里传出。中国游客李艺在接受南方都市报采访时表示，事发时她与家人正准备上厕所，刚进去排队不到一分钟，就听到第一声枪响。“后面连续开了很多枪，我们才反应过来，往隔间里面跑。我们都挤在最后一个隔间里，当时阿姨和另外两个女性已经倒在隔间外面了。”她的阿姨当场遇难，母亲受伤。一家人原本计划乘坐4日凌晨的飞机回国。
紧邻事发卫生间的是一家LV门店，当时不少游客在店内避险，店员还通过监控观察枪手的动向。深一度记者探访时，这家门店还未恢复营业，一位工作人员说，“同事被吓坏了。”在事发卫生间内，一位泰国清洁工表示，案发后是她清理了地上的血迹，她不想再回忆当时的情形，“我太害怕了，发生这种事我们都非常难过，大家的心都像是蒙上了阴影。”
当地时间10月4日，泰国曼谷京都警察局负责人表示，警方对制造暹罗百丽宫枪击案的14岁嫌疑人提出5项初步指控，分别是蓄意杀人、实施杀人、非法持枪、未经许可携带枪支进入公共场所、未经许可在公共场所开枪。
