3月18日，盒马相关人士向北京青年报记者确认，盒马CEO侯毅（花名：老菜）因年满60岁正式退休，未来将担任盒马首席荣誉顾问。

据了解，这项任命是以盒马全员信的方式宣布的，现任盒马CFO的严筱磊（花名：百何）将兼任CEO。在信中，阿里集团对侯毅为盒马起步和发展作出的贡献给予高度评价。

盒马创立于2015年，作为创始人之一，侯毅以其创新力和鲜明的个人风格为外界熟知。成立之初，盒马接连不断地给传统行业打开了新格局。尤其值得一提的是，盒马将数字化管理带到了零售行业，让线上线下一体化经营成为主流，其背后是一个打通了零售全链路数字化管理系统。截至目前，盒马在29个城市拥有超过360多家门店，服务了数千万客户。

自从2023年底以来，盒马数次被传出被阿里“出售”，盒马也数次辟谣：“盒马继续增长势头，开店速度不减。10月中旬，盒马启动了折扣化变革，在此前移山价基础上，全面优化供应链，为更多消费者提供优质低价的商品。”

2023年11月22日，在盒马2023新零供大会上，面向几百家供应商伙伴，盒马CEO侯毅表达了中国零售业变革的必要性以及盒马推动折扣化变革的决心。在侯毅看来，折扣化经营模式不是卖便宜货，而是把好货卖便宜。从全球零售发展的趋势来看，折扣化经营已经融合在全球领先零售商的经营中，变革是唯一的出路。

目前，盒马的策略也在不断调整。北京等三地的免运费门槛调整至99元，同时，包括蔬果、海鲜、米面在内的多类目商品出现不同幅度降价。“把原本花费在运力资源上的成本补贴，转移到更能惠及消费者的商品价格补贴上”。
