fear、afraid、frightened
1. fear:动词 / 名词 “害怕 / 恐惧”(如 “fear heights”“feel fear”);
2. afraid:形容词 “害怕的”(如 “be afraid of”,仅作表语);
3. frightened:形容词 “受惊的”(如 “frightened child”,表暂时恐惧)。
单词用法
1.后接动词可用不定式或动名词:He fears to tell[telling]her what happened.他害怕告诉她所发生的事情。
2.fear sb与fear for sb不同:前者指害怕某人,后者指为某人担心。
