expand、extend、spread
1. expand：动 “扩大；膨胀”（体积 / 规模，如 expand business）；
2. extend：动 “延伸”（长度 / 时间，如 extend a road）；
3. spread：动 “传播；展开”（面积 / 信息，如 spread news）。
基本用法
expand的意思是“扩大，扩张”，指事物在范围、规模、体积或大小尺寸上的扩大，侧重于“扩展”和“发展”，引申可指“详尽阐述”。
expand既可用作及物动词，又可用作不及物动词，用作及物动词时可接名词或代词作宾语。
expand在口语里还可表示“变得亲切友好，变得乐于交谈”，这种单词用法多见于英式英语。
