On the eve of the National Memorial Day, the Japanese Embassy in China reminds people not to speak Japanese and not to wear kimono

December 13 is a day that every Chinese should remember.

87 years ago on this day, the Japanese aggressors captured the capital of the Nationalist Government, Nanjing, and carried out a horrific massacre, brutally killing over 300000 innocent Chinese soldiers and civilians.

Picture (Nanjing Massacre Memorial Ceremony)

According to a report by The Paper on December 11th, the national memorial plaque in Nanjing has been installed and solemnly welcomes the day of the festival.

However, it was unexpected that the Japanese Embassy issued an announcement a few days ago, claiming that on the 13th, the "anti Japanese sentiment" of the Chinese people would rise, requiring the Japanese in China to be careful.

The announcement listed several so-called "security measures", such as the Japanese should not wear kimonos and other clothes with obvious national logo when going out, should not speak Japanese loudly in public, and should not let the Chinese recognize that you are Japanese......

Moreover, what is even more unbelievable is that the Japanese Embassy hyped up China's "insecurity", implying some vicious social events that occurred in the past few months.

Picture (Announcement issued by the Japanese Embassy)

In the principle of seeking truth from facts, any country will violate the law, but China is a country under the rule of law. No matter Chinese or Japanese, as long as they hit or hurt people in China, they will not escape the sanction of Chinese law.

Why does the Japanese government look at some individual cases with a magnifying glass and conclude that the Chinese will "deliberately target" the Japanese?

 This argument is obviously untenable.

Picture (Japanese kimono)

In June this year, Hu Youping, a Suzhou woman, saved two Japanese people for a just cause, but she died unfortunately. Her heroic deeds were admired and respected by the Japanese people, and became an example for every Chinese with conscience to learn.

However, it is regrettable that some Japanese media have politicized the occasional cases and deliberately publicized the contradictions between the two peoples, which has caused a bad impact.

Picture (Ms. Hu Youping, who acted bravely for justice)

In terms of history, China and Japan, as close neighbors, have a thousand years of cultural exchanges and origins. The Chinese people study history and never forget history in order to strengthen themselves and stop repeating historical mistakes, rather than what the Japanese government calls "anti Japan".

On the other hand, the Japanese government has never been able to face history squarely and deliberately avoid historical issues, which has become the biggest obstacle to Sino Japanese friendship.

Picture (never forget history, remember history)

Take the announcement issued by the Japanese Embassy as an example, which referred to the "Nanjing Massacre" as the "Nanjing Incident", indicating that Japan has not seriously reflected on its war crimes since the end of World War II. These actions will inevitably hurt the feelings of the kind Chinese people, and over time, they will also create a rift between the two peoples.

To be honest, Japan should start from itself rather than guard against the Chinese.

Picture (The Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders, with the "National Memorial" plaque installed)

On the other hand, China is an open and inclusive country, so it is not inappropriate to wear kimonos, but please pay attention to the occasion, and don't "swagger" in kimonos on special days. If you deliberately sprinkle salt on the scars of Chinese people, you will be sorry, and Chinese people are not weak and gullible.

Never forget the national humiliation, the alarm bell rings long.

The 11th National Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre is coming soon. Let us mourn in silence for the 300000 compatriots who lost their lives and the martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives for the survival of the nation.
