中国农业大学官宣：袁隆平孙女今年入读中国农业大学

8月30日，中国农业大学隆重举行了2024年新生开学典礼。据澎湃新闻报道，中国农业大学校长孙其信在典礼上发表讲话，透露了一个特别的信息：袁隆平的孙女今年也考入了中国农业大学，成为了2024级新生中的一员。

孙其信提到，今年共有9543名新生入学，这是中国农业大学建校119年来招生规模最大的一次。他欣喜地表示，2024级新生中孕育着许多感人的故事。这些同学们怀揣着梦想，为了祖国的强大而努力学习，他们选择了中国农业大学。特别值得一提的是，有几对双胞胎姐妹、兄妹一同考入了中国农业大学，并且还被分配到了同一个班级。孙其信还注意到，会场布置了四个字——“禾下乘凉”，这恰好是“共和国勋章”获得者、世界杂交水稻之父袁隆平的两大梦想之一。袁隆平先生曾有两个梦想：第一个是禾下乘凉梦，追求水稻的高产、更高产；第二个是杂交水稻覆盖全球梦。如今，杂交水稻覆盖全球的梦想已经实现，它已经在全球70多个国家和地区进行了试验试种和推广，成为许多非洲和东南亚国家解决粮食问题的重大科技成果。

孙其信还分享了一个温馨的故事。今年在现场签发录取通知书的时候，他问同学们为什么选择报考中国农业大学。有同学回答说，是因为在中学时学到了袁隆平爷爷为国家、为世界作奉献的事迹，所以要沿着袁隆平爷爷走过的路，为实现中华民族伟大复兴贡献自己的力量。

“那么，我也向大家透露一个消息，”孙其信接着说，“袁隆平先生的亲孙女，今年也来到了中国农业大学，是我们2024级的新生之一。”话音未落，现场掌声如潮。

据中国农大新闻网报道，当天全体新生身着各学院的文化衫，整齐划一地有序落座。会场内横幅标语一字排开：“成就辉煌，扬帆远航”“发奋图强，使命担当”“以‘自找苦吃’倾情告白，在民族复兴征途中强国有我”……这些标语迸发出豪迈的青春激情，见证着新同学们开启新的人生旅程。

CAU's New Semester Ceremony

On August 30th, China Agricultural University (CAU) held its grand ceremony for the new semester of 2024. according to a report by The Paper, CAU president Sun Qixin revealed a special piece of information during his speech: the granddaughter of Yuan Longping has also entered CAU this year, becoming one of the freshmen in the class of 2024.

Sun Qixin mentioned that this year, a total of 9,543 new students have enrolled, which marks the largest intake in the university's 119-year history. He expressed his delight in noting that the class of 2024 is filled with many inspiring stories. Yuan Longping had two dreams: the first was to sit under the shade of rice plants, pursuing higher and higher yields of rice; the second was to see hybrid rice cover the globe. Today, the dream of hybrid rice covering the world has been realized, with hybrid rice being tested, trialed, and promoted in over 70 countries and regions globally, becoming a significant scientific achievement for many African and Southeast Asian countries in addressing food security issues.

Sun Qixin also shared a heartwarming story. This year, when issuing acceptance letters on site, he asked the students why they chose to apply to CAU. One student replied that it was because, during their middle school years, they learned about the dedication and contributions of Grandpa Yuan Longping to both their nation and the world. Thus, they wished to follow in the footsteps of Grandpa Yuan and contribute their youthful vigor to the realization of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

"Then, let me also share a piece of news with you," Sun Qixin continued, "the granddaughter of Yuan Longping has also come to China Agricultural University this year. She is one of our freshmen in the class of 2024." Before he could finish his sentence, the venue was filled with resounding applause.

According to a report by the CAU News Network, on that day, all the freshmen wore cultural shirts representing their respective colleges and sat in orderly rows.
