In the autumn of 2020, Zhong Fangrong, who had just entered the campus, followed the "Reflection on Archaeology" classroom to the Zhouyuan Archaeological Internship Base in Shaanxi, delving into the front line of archaeological excavation and experiencing archaeological life.
In April and May 2021, under the leadership of the college, Zhong Fangrong went with the team to the Nihewan Site Group in Yangyuan County, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province and the Sanxingdui Site in Guanghan, Sichuan Province to carry out practical activities.

In the autumn of 2022, junior Zhong Fangrong encountered unprecedented challenges during her investigation of the Tonglin Site in Linzi, Zibo, Shandong. In the exploration area she excavated, some relics were very vague. After several days of continuous excavation, she still couldn't figure out the nature of these relics, feeling very lost. She even had some self doubt and wavering, "If I can't complete this relatively basic archaeological excavation work well..." But she didn't give up. She almost asked all the teachers of the archaeological team, pondered and analyzed day and night, and finally determined that it was an L-shaped relic.
She gradually realized
Archaeology is a highly challenging discipline
Requires both extensive reading and knowledge accumulation
It cannot be separated from the practice in the fields
Highly academic and professional
When confused by various problems
Zhong Fangrong often doubts herself
Is it really suitable for the discipline of archaeology
However, driven by interest
With the help of teachers and classmates
She always manages to cross the mud over and over again
Continue to move forward firmly
