In January of this year, 29 year old Alan Noble became the first human subject recruited by Neuralink. Noble had a device called Link implanted in his brain. Link device is an invasive brain computer device (BCI) developed by Neuralink, whose function is to help severely paralyzed individuals communicate with the outside world solely through brain consciousness. In March of this year, Noble demonstrated playing chess solely based on the mind. It is reported that Noble once described Link as an "exciting luxury" for him, using it for up to 8 hours a day and even 10 hours a day on weekends.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Neuralink's recruitment of human volunteers for experiments last year, with Neuralink's goal of reaching 10 volunteers to participate in the experiment by the end of this year.
