On October 6th, Beijing time, the Chinese men's basketball team won the bronze medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games by defeating the Chinese Taipei team 101-73 in the men's basketball third or fourth place final.

Yao Ming, Chairman of the Chinese Basketball association and leader of the Chinese men's basketball team, attended today's post match press conference. Yao Ming stated that there will be pain in China's basketball deviating from the world, and world basketball is rapidly developing. "It is almost a transition from 'cold weapon' to 'hot weapon', and if we do not have an understanding of this, we will be further delayed. However, how to transition from 'cold weapon' to 'hot weapon' still needs to be further considered and summarized

At the previous World Cup, the Japanese team achieved the best results of Asian teams and thus made it to the main stage of next year's Paris Olympics. Yao Ming also stated today that what Japanese basketball can do, Chinese basketball needs to learn from their experience.

A reporter asked Yao Ming how he views online media. Yao Ming humorously stated that he knows he is called "226" online and needs to listen to the voices on the internet and think about what is beneficial and constructive.
